Whether you love it or hate it, Pi Day is a favorite day of mine because it is also my birthday.
So what do I wish for on this, my third, birthday affected by the coronavirus?
- World peace. That’s a hard one to deliver on right now but I can make the wish.
- A return to ‘normal.’ We are edging closer ever so slowly. Mask mandates are expiring. Vaccines and boosters are available for all but our youngest citizens. I won’t make a prediction as I have been wrong so many times before; I simply ask, “Are we there yet?”
I do feel like celebrating for the first time in years. (One year ago, our Subaru got totalled March 14 Day 371: We Are OK; Two years ago this pandemic was just getting into full swing March 14 Day 6: A Different Kind of Celebration.) Tonight my husband and I will venture to a restaurant with friends and then to the Immersive Van Gogh exhibit that just (finally!) opened in Tacoma.
Perhaps you are wondering what it is that I wish for, for myself? Honestly, I already have everything I need. An attentive husband who showers me with love and thoughtful gifts. (Chris Hanusa designed hypercube earrings!)

Beautiful boys that have grown into kind, hard working young men. A home, a family, and more than enough. If you’d like to do something special to celebrate my day, maybe read a blog post or two. Having a large number views would definitely make me smile.
The cover photo is of a 3D printed pi, hidden in preparation for the Pi Day celebration of 2020. It remains in its original location. I pulled it out to make it more visible. Maybe someone will finally find it.
Love the earrings! And I admit that I don’t often come to read here- I have a (possibly archaic) feed reader, so I follow you there.
