August 18 Day 893: Delayed but not Forgotten

It was been 2 weeks since my last post. Where has the time gone?

I had every intention to write daily at MathFest. But truth to tell, preparations and other obligations started too early in the morning and kept me up too late at night. Plus I was so focused on my responsibilities that I did not take enough interesting pictures. Suffice it to say, MathFest exceeded my expectations. It was everything that I hoped MAA’s first in-person conference since COVID could be….and more. Every plenary lecture that I attended was spot on. Every Pavilion event was filled with joy and friendship. The human connections were beautiful. Collaborators and virtual friends met for the first time in real life. And the Friday night Ignite Celebration was (as my son would say) lit.

This post does not do justice to everything I attended and participated in at MathFest or more importantly, how wonderful MAA MathFest was.

Thanks to all those that worked tirelessly to make this happen and all those who attended to share in the mathematical joy. I hope your travels were smooth and you return home energized and in good health.
