April 20 Day 408: One Step Closer

Today was Zachary’s first vaccination. Washington State opened vaccinations to people 16 years and older on April 15. I found a drive through site in Dupont administering the Pfizer vaccine with open appointments last week and this morning we drove the 30 minutes (with traffic), to the location.

It was extremely well-organized. The concentric circles of the Dupont State Farm Building parking lot where well utilized. Here we are in the “paperwork” line awaiting sign-off (you can tell by the clipboard on the front dash.) After sign-off you move to one of eight vaccination lines. From there you move forward and wait your fifteen minutes before driving off. While waiting, the second appointment was made (at exactly the same time and day of the week as this appointment.)

On Thursday, Anson will get his first dose on the St. Olaf campus. In slightly more than three weeks, this family will be fully vaccinated. What a relief.
