July 17 Day 1228: It Must Be Love

It was 4 am and the entire household was up and eating breakfast together. My brother, his wife, his son, and my Mom. It was the conclusion of a family getaway to Las Vegas. Mom and I flew in Friday and then out Monday (at the crack of dawn.)

We needed to leave for the airport by 4:30 am. My alarm set was for 4 am. I assumed we’d be sneaking out trying not to wake others in the house. But here they were, sitting around a table, sharing a quick meal and some more laughs. What a delightful conclusion to our visit together!

It is a rare family that takes advantage of every moment together—even in the wee hours. It must be love. I count myself very fortunate.

The weekend provided oppressive heat—but that didn’t matter; we spent our time indoors talking, playing, and eating (plus one excursion to see Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart).

The weekend in pictures:

I’m looking forward to the next family adventure—maybe with a little less heat and a few more siblings. ❤️
