January 4 Day 302: A New Start

It’s the first Monday of a new year and the first day of winter quarter classes after an all-too-short break. So, how did you approach it?

Me? I moved forward with determination, optimism, and hope. I refused to be weighed down by the problems to be solved, promises to be kept, or schedules to be juggled. I actually feel like I accomplished many things today. And tomorrow will only get better.

When I started blogging, I promised you musings from an eternal optimist. There were times when I became discouraged and expressed frustrations. I tried not to be, but I was jealous and resentful. Yet, anything seems possible at the start of something new—whether its the year, the quarter, the month, or the week. New students, new classes, new opportunities. Today was bright and I vow to live up to my promise.
