March 15 Day 7: Early Adopters

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes. You brought a ray of sunshine to my day.

I tried to count the number of institutions of higher learning that have gone to online classes or extended Spring breaks with subsequent online classes, but lost count after 550. Then I started to wonder how many institutions of higher learning there are in the United States. I don’t have an exact number but a quick internet search seems to put it around 4300 colleges and universities.  Making it approximately 13% to have reacted so far. Things are moving fast and I’m sure my numbers are already out of date. How high do you think this percentage will eventually get?

Edit: Found a different source that disaggregates some of the University system campuses and lists 919 affected institutions.  That brings the current percentage to 21%.
