April 2 Day 25: Novel Zooming

Finished the first week of Zoom classes for the Spring quarter and I am exhausted. There were some challenges to be sure but for the most part, I am pleased with the students and our “soft start” to the quarter.

I’m excited to share my novel use of an iPad in a Zoom meeting (at least it is to me). I have used my iPad to take and share notes during meetings for a while. I try to start each class with a plan for the session and end with reminders of work to be completed before we meet again. Today,  I added screenshots of the plan and reminders to my photo library, and used them as the virtual background of my “iPad participant”.  So even in gallery mode,  the essential information was visible as  the iPad was pointing toward the ceiling and we had an unobstructed view of the “background”.

It may be old news to Zoom Professionals, but I thought it was pretty cool.
