November 10 Day 247: Sleuthing

DHL delivered a package to our front door. It was not exactly our address — off by 2. According to Google maps, the address corresponds to our side yard, so depositing the item on our porch made some degree of sense.

I endeavored to find the true owner. Facebook was surprisingly helpful. There was one person in Tacoma with the same name as the addressee. I direct messaged her, asked if she was expecting a delivery, and included a picture of the item. Her response “Yes!!! I have been in contact with the company to try and find where it was delivered!”

Problem solved. The issue? The hundreds and thousands digits were transposed, resulting in the delivery being off by .7 miles. I volunteered to drop it by tomorrow. I hope others would do the same in similar situations.
