November 2 Day 239: What’s Happening?

Dear Student,

I know there is so much going on in the world that my class is insignificant to any number of things you are dealing with. The stress from midterms, politics, caretaking, or health issues may be weighing on you heavily, preventing you from being present with your classmates, the material, and me.

I wanted to be with you in person. It didn’t happen.

You wanted to be in person with your peers. It didn’t happen.

I still want to build community—supportive of your mathematical journey— but that hasn’t happened…yet. At least not to the degree I had hoped.

You want to succeed in your academic goals. So let’s make that happen together.

I do not know what tomorrow will bring. But my classroom will always be a place where you are valued. I hope to see you there soon, when you are ready. Be realistic, be well, and take care of yourself.

Sincerely yours,

Prof. Quinn
