September 28 Day 204: OMG! Zoom 5.3

Two days until my first class and I still have so many preparations to complete. But this new Zoom release has me smiling from ear to ear. What’s the big deal?

First, you can create breakout rooms where the participants can choose which room they go to themselves! Co-hosts have always had this potential but never standard meeting participants.

Room selection works on an iPad with updated Zoom application. Screenshot from iPad #1.

Second, your galley view can be rearranged by clicking on and then dragging images around.

And the host can share her ordering with everyone in the meeting–at least that is the implication of “Follow Hosts Video Order”. I need friends to investigate whether it works as advertised. It’s too hard for me to look at pictures of myself from different angles to be sure.

The caveat? To use the new functionalities, you must have the most recent Zoom release installed. Visit the Zoom Help Center for assistance if you don’t already know how.
