I am a professor of mathematics at the University of Washington Tacoma and Executive Director for the Seattle Universal Math Museum. Mother of Anson and Zachary. Wife to Mark. President of the Mathematical Association of America (2021-2022).
I started writing (almost) daily reflections March 7, 2020, the day after the UW system announced face-to-face teaching would cease beginning Monday, March 9. It took 6 weeks to incorporate the posts into this blog. I continued writing almost daily throughout the pandemic. Now I only write occasionally.
After a year’s hiatus, I’ve returned in 2025. New job. New purpose. Still focused on creating a positive math vibe for everyone. Working with an amazing community to build something incredible.
